A CALL TO ALL STRING PLAYERS!!!!! Or if you don’t play any stings, come and enjoy the sights and sounds!!!!!!
Last month, Andrew Noble and I gathered a handful of string players together and performed a series of improvised exercises and disciplines resulting in a fantastic collage of beautiful soundscapes. We where extremely fortunate to perform at Art House as a part of an exhibition by British artist Graham Hudson, who through the use of scaffolding has built a massive structure designed after the Astoria Theatre. Well, we had so much fun…we ‘re doing it again! But this time we are going to have 2 live rehearsals where we go over the basic concepts and then a performance during this year’s Fast Forward Fest.
This time we want more people to play with us and for more people to come out and experience it!

Feb 18 Poly Hem kick started its newest phase at Art House as a part of Graham Hudson’s installment piece Rehearsal at the Astoria. It was a great experience and a successful start to our new project.

February 18 THIS FRIDAY at 12:30 Andrew Noble and I will be premiering our new improv/chance ensemble Gathering of Strings. We will be playing as a part of an installation piece for ArtHouse and artist Graham Hudson (click for more info).
March 13 Polydactyl will be playing a set of string trio arrangements at Chain Drive for YEAST BY SWEET BEAST (click for info).
April 9 Gathering of Strings second performance with special guest choreographer Rosalyn Nasky during Fast>>Forward>>Festival (click for info) I will also be playing some new pieces for solo guitar.
